Quickstart: get Lettr running in 10 minutes
Sign up, drop the chat widget on your site, invite a teammate, and answer your first customer message — end to end in about ten minutes.
This guide takes you from a fresh sign-up to your first answered customer message. If you can copy-paste a script tag and you have access to your website's theme or HTML, you have what you need.
1. Create your Lettr account
Sign up at lettr.4os.ai/signup. The 14-day free trial does not start counting until you reply to your first real customer chat — so taking your time on setup costs nothing.
2. Add the chat widget to your site
From the dashboard, open Chat Widget and copy the embed snippet. It looks like:
<script src="https://aurora.4os.ai/widget.js" data-widget-id="YOUR_WIDGET_ID" ></script>
Drop this into your site's <head> or before the closing </body> tag. The widget appears as a chat bubble in the bottom-right of every page it loads on.
Detailed instructions for Shopify, WordPress, Webflow, and custom HTML sites are in Installing the widget.
3. Invite a teammate (optional but recommended)
From Team, click Invite agent and enter their email. They'll get a one-click join link. See Inviting your team for role choices.
4. Send a test message
Open your site in another browser (or an incognito window), click the chat bubble, and send a message. You should see it appear in your Lettr dashboard within a couple of seconds.
5. Reply
Open the conversation in Lettr and reply. The moment you do, your 14-day trial timer starts counting — and the customer sees your reply in their chat window.
That's it. You're live.
